On July 5, 1944, Orson Welles welcomed Lana Turner and Keenan Wynn
to his Mercury Wonder Show radio program, broadcast live from the Los Angeles
Port of Embarkation in Wilmington, California. Includes a number by The Mercury
All-Star Jazz Combination - Kid Ory (trombone), Zutty Singleton (drums), Bud
Scott (guitar), Ed Garland (bass), Norman Bowden (trumpet) and Fred Washington
(piano) - with Lud Gluskin and His Orchestra.

The Mercury band later became Kid Ory's Creole Jazz Band and made a significant
series of recordings on the Crescent Records label, founded by jazz producer
Nesuhi Ertegun.
